Scarface added to video industry Hall of Fame

Scarface was honored in the VSDA's Home Entertainment 2005 event at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Written by Oliver Stone and directed by Brian de Palma, "Scarface" is an updating of the 1932 gangster classic, "Scarface, The Shame Of The Nation." It follows Mariel boat lift refugee Tony Montana as his brains and guts raise him to the head of a drug cartel, and then as his vices ultimately bring him down. Described by one reviewer as "the most violent, thrilling, revolting, surprising, and gruesome gangster movie ever made," "Scarface" has been a popular video since its release on VHS in 1988. It was first released on DVD in 1998, and is currently available from Universal Studios Home Entertainment in several DVD editions.

Scarface TWIY available on Wii - Wednesday, April 11, 2007

Scarface: The World is Yours is being released for the Wii platform on June 12. It was originally released on the Playstation 2, Xbox and the PC in October. Scarface tops 1 million copies - Wednesday, November 29, 2006

Sierra Entertainment announced that Scarface: the World is Yours, the blockbuster video game based on the classic 1983 film, has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide at retail stores. Scarface Lives! - Friday, October 20, 2006

A two-disc Scarface: Platinum Edition has been released with remixed sound effectes that boost the volume on the movie's relentless violence. The press release refers to it as the "Bigger guns, Bigger explosions, Bigger sounds" edition. This new movie coincides with the release of the all-new videogame, Scarface: The World is Yours (Vivendi/Sierra). There are also new Scarface ringones, Scarface Halloween costumes, and endless references and support by the hip-hop community.

New Scarface Comic Series

IDW Publishing is proud to present the definitive prequel to that fan-favorite film in the form of the five-part comic book miniseries, Scarface: Devil in Disguise.

The Return of Tony Montana

From Mr. Nightlife's Hollywood: When we last saw Cuban exile and Miami gangster Tony Montana, his cocaine-fueled body was riddled with bullets in the 1983 Brian DePalma cinematic classic, Scarface. Now, IDW Publishing is reviving Tony Montana, in the sequel to the end-all-be-all of gangster movies, with an all-new graphic novel - Scarface: Scarred for Life - available in bookstores and comic stores in July.

The blood-soaked tale picks up where the movie left off, as Tony Montana survives - yes, you read that right - but just barely. Having lost almost everything - including, of course, very nearly his life - Tony must once again claw his way to the top of the sun-drenched Florida underworld. Scarface: TWIY Sells over 2 million

Scarface: The World Is Yours, the blockbuster videogame based on the 1983 classic film from Universal Pictures and published by Sierra Entertainment, a division of Vivendi Games, has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide at retail stores.

“Selling 2 million units of Scarface: The World Is Yours worldwide is great achievement and a direct reflection of the outstanding support received by the international retail and gaming community,” said Pascal Brochier, president, global retail for Vivendi Games. “This milestone is another strong example of Radical Entertainment’s development talents and Sierra Entertainment’s commitment to deliver a high quality, compelling gaming experience.”
